Large Slimline Smoking Shelter for Space-Saving Protection
The Urbanfab Large Slimline Smoking Shelter provides a dedicated covered area for approximately 6–8 people while occupying just 1016 mm of depth. Its slim footprint makes it particularly useful where a conventional shelter would take up too much space.
Weather Protection for the Large Slimline Smoking Shelter
Clear, high-impact UV-stable PETG half-height side and rear panels provide protection from wind and rain while retaining an open feel and maintaining excellent visibility around the shelter.
Large Slimline Smoking Shelter Compliance
The Large Slimline Smoking Shelter is supplied with half-height side and rear panels, maintaining an open-sided configuration when used as a smoking shelter. Under UK smoke-free legislation, a roofed shelter must not be substantially enclosed. This means that at least 50% of the total wall area must remain permanently open.
Robust Hot-Dip Galvanised Steel Construction
The Large Slimline Smoking Shelter features a robust 50 × 25 mm RHS mild-steel frame with 5 mm hot-dip galvanised steel locking plates, providing a strong, low-maintenance structure designed for long-term outdoor use.
Hot-dip galvanising to ISO 1461:2022 forms a fully bonded zinc coating across the mild steel, providing a layer of protective zinc armour against corrosion and a low-maintenance finish suited to outdoor environments. For more information about hot-dip galvanising and why we specify it, see our Why Hot-Dip Galvanising page.
Secure Bolt-Down Installation
The plate-mounted design allows the Large Slimline Smoking Shelter to be securely fixed to any suitable hard surface.
Flat-Pack Large Slimline Smoking Shelter Delivery
The Large Slimline Smoking Shelter is delivered as a flat-pack kit for straightforward self-assembly. Fixings are included, along with ground Anka bolts, providing everything required for assembly and fixing to a suitable hard surface.
Large Slimline Smoking Shelter Finish Options
Many of our customers opt for the standard hot-dip galvanised mild steel to ISO 1461:2022 finish. Optional powder coating is available in any standard RAL colour where a specific aesthetic or organisational colour scheme is required.
Applied over the galvanised steel, it creates a duplex coating system, combining the long-term corrosion protection of galvanising with an additional protective barrier and durable decorative finish. Powder coating adds approximately 3–4 days to the lead time and incurs an additional cost.
As a lower-cost alternative, the frame can be hand-painted after assembly using an appropriate metal paint, with primer applied where required. The paint should be allowed to fully cure before fitting the PETG UV panels.
Modular Smoking Shelter Configurations
The Large Slimline’s modular structure allows multiple units to be linked together, creating a continuous sheltered area for larger installations. This provides a flexible way to accommodate higher user volumes while maintaining a consistent, cohesive shelter layout — all while remaining competitively priced.
