Urbanfab offers 3 mm Skybond aluminium composite panels (ACM) as a coloured panel option across our cycle shelters and bin stores. Each panel features a three-layer construction, combining 0.3 mm aluminium outer layers with a low-density polyethylene core, providing a durable panel solution for outdoor applications.

Available in a range of colours with reversible matt and gloss faces, Skybond ACM provides an attractive alternative to clear PETG where screening, privacy, colour coordination or a more architectural appearance is preferred.

Colour options can be mixed across individual panels, giving customers greater freedom to coordinate with company branding, school or team colours, existing buildings or wider site schemes. This level of flexibility supports a wide range of environments — including sports and leisure facilities, educational institutions, workplaces, retail and commercial developments, public-sector sites and multi-site organisations — where colour, identity and visual interest play an important role.

Skybond Aluminium Composite Panel Specification

Skybond is a 3 mm aluminium composite material (ACM) consisting of a low-density polyethylene core between 0.3 mm aluminium outer layers. ACM is used across a wide range of exterior applications, including outdoor signage, shelters and architectural applications, where panels are exposed to changing weather conditions and prolonged outdoor use. Its combination of rigidity, durability and hard-wearing construction makes it a practical panel material for these environments.

Care & Maintenance

Both panel options require minimal routine maintenance and can be cleaned using a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Abrasive cleaners and rough cleaning materials should be avoided to help protect the panel surfaces.

As Skybond ACM has a coloured surface finish, a little extra care is recommended during handling, installation and cleaning. Scratches may expose the natural aluminium beneath, and in some cases the affected area may feel slightly rough or sharp to the touch. Any exposed aluminium will not develop red rust like unprotected steel.

If an individual panel is accidentally damaged, it can be quickly and independently replaced without the need to replace the complete shelter or bin store, helping minimise disruption while protecting the long-term value of the structure.
