10 Bike Eco Cycle Shelter for Everyday Cycle Storage
The Urbanfab 10 Bike Eco Cycle Shelter provides a dedicated, weather-sheltered area for up to ten adult bicycles. Its open configuration allows cyclists to access their bicycles easily, while the covered structure provides practical protection from the elements.
Weather Protection for 10 Bike Cycle Storage
Rear panels help protect bicycles from wind, rain and debris, with a choice of clear UV-stable PETG or coloured Skybond ACM depending on the required level of visibility, screening and appearance. The covered design provides practical weather protection for everyday cycle storage.
Cycle Stands and Locking Bar for 10 Bikes
The Urbanfab 10 Bike Eco Cycle Shelter includes five square cycle stands mounted on a shared base bar, with an additional central locking bar providing a convenient anchoring point for D‑locks and chain locks. This arrangement allows users to secure both the wheels and frames of their bicycles, helping maintain a well‑managed and secure parking area.
Hot-Dip Galvanised Steel Construction
The shelter features a 50 × 25 mm RHS mild-steel frame with 5 mm hot-dip galvanised steel locking plates, providing a robust structure designed for long-term outdoor use.
Hot-dip galvanising to ISO 1461:2022 provides durable corrosion protection and a low-maintenance finish. Further information about the galvanising process and the protection it provides can be found on our Why Hot-Dip Galvanising page.
Flexible 10 Bike Cycle Shelter Configurations
The standard ten-bike arrangement can be adapted to suit individual site requirements. Rack spacing and layout options are available where a standard configuration does not meet the needs of a particular site.
Custom Rack Spacing
The spacing between cycle stands can be increased to accommodate larger bicycles, including e-bikes and motorbikes, as well as prams and other equipment where additional clearance is required. Alternative arrangements can also incorporate designated parking zones, seating or standing areas within the shelter layout, providing greater flexibility for larger or multi-use sites.
Panel Options – Clear PETG or Skybond ACM
The Urbanfab Eco Cycle Shelter is available with a choice of clear UV-stable PETG or coloured Skybond ACM panels, allowing the shelter to be tailored to the level of visibility, screening and appearance required for the site. Both materials are designed for outdoor shelter applications, and the best choice will depend on the desired balance between natural light, visibility, screening, privacy and appearance.
Clear UV-stable PETG is a good choice where maximum natural light and visibility are important. The transparent panels maintain clear sightlines into and through the shelter, helping to create a brighter, more open appearance. This can be particularly useful for schools, workplaces and other locations where visibility and supervision are important.
Coloured Skybond ACM provides an opaque finish for customers who prefer greater screening and privacy. The coloured panels can also help the shelter complement surrounding buildings, existing site colours or company branding, making them particularly suitable where appearance and integration with the wider site are important.
Available in Anthracite Grey, White, Black, Racing Green, Blue, Red and Grey, with matt and gloss finishes and multi-colour panel combinations. Please contact us to discuss a tailored quotation for optional coloured panel.
Enhanced Weather Protection
For enhanced protection against the elements, optional side panels help shield bicycles from wind‑driven rain, prevailing winds and debris entering from the sides, creating a more enclosed and weather‑resistant parking area. This configuration is particularly valuable for exposed sites, open car parks and long‑stay cycle parking, where bikes may remain outdoors for extended periods. We recommend rear and end panels for customers seeking the highest level of weather protection from their Eco Shelter.
Care & Maintenance
Both clear PETG and Skybond ACM panels are designed for outdoor use, but as with any finished surface, care should be taken to avoid sharp or abrasive contact and harsh cleaning products. A soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner are recommended for routine cleaning.
Skybond ACM has a coloured surface finish, so a little extra care is recommended during handling, installation and cleaning. Scratches may reveal the natural aluminium beneath and, in some cases, the affected area may feel slightly rough or sharp to the touch. Exposed aluminium will not develop red rust like unprotected steel.
Individual replacement panels are available for both PETG and Skybond ACM if required.
Optional 600 mm Front Canopy Extension
An optional 600 mm front canopy extension is available for our Eco Shelters, providing additional covered space at the entrance and greater protection from rain. Supplied as a separate add-on, it attaches to the front of the shelter and increases the overall covered depth by 600 mm, creating extra sheltered space for users and bicycles.
The canopy extension can also be retrofitted to existing Urbanfab Eco Shelters, and the required fixings are included.
Modular Eco Shelter Expansion
The Eco Shelter’s modular structure allows multiple units to be linked together to form continuous rows. This provides a flexible way to accommodate higher cycle volumes while maintaining a consistent, cohesive shelter layout across the site — all while remaining competitively priced.
Secure Bolt-Down Installation
The plate-mounted design allows the shelter to be securely fixed to any suitable hard surface.
Flat-Pack 10 Bike Eco Shelter Delivery
The shelter is delivered as a flat-pack kit and includes the required frame and panel fixings. Ground anchors are not included as fixing requirements vary depending on the installation surface and site conditions.
Galvanised or Powder Coated Finish
Many of our customers opt for the standard hot-dip galvanised mild steel to ISO 1461:2022 finish. Optional powder coating is available in any standard RAL colour where a specific aesthetic or organisational colour scheme is required.
Applied over the galvanised steel, it creates a duplex coating system, combining the long-term corrosion protection of galvanising with an additional protective barrier and durable decorative finish. Powder coating adds approximately 3–4 days to the lead time and incurs an additional cost. As a lower-cost alternative, the frame can be hand-painted after assembly using an appropriate metal paint, with primer applied where required.
