Flexible Smoking Shelter Bench for Urbanfab Shelters

The Woodlands Series Bench is designed to work across a wide range of Urbanfab shelter configurations, rather than being limited to a single application. This gives customers the flexibility to introduce seating wherever it best supports how their outdoor space will be used.

For example, one customer may choose to add a bench to a smoking shelter to provide dedicated seating, while another may specify a bench in place of bike racks within a bespoke cycle shelter arrangement. This versatility allows each shelter to be configured around real-world use rather than fixed layouts.

Durable Outdoor Bench Construction

The bench features vacuum-treated softwood slats mounted to a mild steel frame. The steel frame is hot-dip galvanised after fabrication to ISO 1461:2022, providing long-lasting corrosion resistance suitable for outdoor environments.

Our steelwork is hot-dip galvanised by Highland Galvanizers. The galvanising process forms a durable zinc and zinc-iron alloy coating, providing sacrificial protection that helps protect the steel from corrosion during outdoor use.

The combination of treated timber and galvanised steel provides a practical balance of comfort, durability and long-term outdoor use.

Supplied Ready to Use

The Woodlands Series Bench is supplied fully assembled and includes concrete ground anchors for easy installation on concrete surfaces. Once securely anchored, the bench provides a stable, dependable seating solution with added peace of mind in everyday outdoor conditions. Alternative hard-surface fixings are available at a moderate additional cost.

Optional Powder Coated Bench Finish

Optional powder coating is available in any standard RAL colour where a specific aesthetic or organisational colour scheme is required. Applied over the galvanised steel, it creates a duplex coating system, combining the long-term corrosion protection of galvanising with an additional protective barrier and durable decorative finish. Powder coating adds approximately 3–4 days to the lead time and incurs an additional cost.

As a lower-cost alternative, the frame can be hand-painted after assembly using an appropriate metal paint, with primer applied where required.
